FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- As Spring Break approaches, student travel plans are typically solidified in the final weeks before their breaks.
This year, some spring breakers are cancelling their travel plans in caution of the novel coronavirus. University of Arkansas junior, Hannah Grace Woods, cancelled her fully-paid cruise vacation on Monday.
“We cancelled, not because we’re scared the virus will kill us,” Woods said, “but because of the fear of being quarantined in a different state and missing lots of school.”
Officials sent an email Saturday in regards to the virus, which encouraged students to use caution during travel. The University’s official spring break dates are March 23-27.
