FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As Coronavirus is on the rise, airports around the world are taking precautions. Although there have not been any reports of the virus in the Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA), they are doing a deep clean. “What we are doing is all precautionary measures not mandated by any health departments,” Alex English, Head of PR for XNA said.
The airport’s efforts include things such as ordering additional hand sanitizing stations to be placed around the area. “We are doing a hospital-grade disinfectant sprayed throughout the entire building 1-2 times a week. We are also asking our custodial and parking staff to make sure they wipe down and disinfect all major public contact areas,” English said. The major public contact areas include escalator handrails, bathroom door latches, door handles, and elevator buttons.
XNA is encouraging all passengers to frequently wash their hands and avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with unclean hands.
