FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — After days of searching, Northwest Arkansan emergency services recovered the body of a man in Lake Fayetteville.

Springdale resident Robert Elmer was reported missing on February 10, according to Fayetteville Police Department.

Patrol officers located Elmer’s car at Veterans Park near Lake Fayetteville.

“The search utilized numerous techniques,” Fayetteville Police Department said, “including sonar, dive teams, drone coverage, as well as horse mounted searchers.”

After six days of searching, on February 21, searchers from the Washington County Sheriff’s office located an object in the lake that appeared to be a body. Divers, then, recovered the body, which was identified as Elmer.

“We would like to thank everyone for their efforts to help recover Mr. Elmer,” F.P.D. said, “and express our condolences to the friends and family of Robert ‘Jeffrey’ Elmer.”

Fayetteville Police also said the investigation is on-going, and a cause of death has not yet been determined.
