FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV)– Pat Walker Health Center’s Counseling and Psychological services, also known as CAPS, is hosting the “Relationships are Sweet” event in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge, February 12.
This event has been on campus for the past 6 years. CAPS has received positive feedback from students for the opportunity for them to learn more about how they can maintain healthy relationships.
The purpose of the event is to, “provide a safe, comfortable environment for students to think critically about the various relationships they have in their lives, and see whether they are practicing healthy relationship habits, and more”, said Zac Brown, Assistant Director of Communications at Pat Walker Health Center.
The event offers several different booths, games, and activities that focus on maintaining healthy relationships and advice from experts.
Brown said, “the importance of having and maintaining all different types of healthy relationships go beyond just the physical aspect. When you are in an unhealthy relationship, it can have a negative impact on your mental health, just as much as your physical health.”
Relationship issues is one of the top reasons a student seeks CAPS services and “this event provides another access point for students to address questions and concerns they have, but in a light-hearted, relaxed environment,” said Brown.
