FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV)– The season of love is finally here, and the Fayetteville Animal Shelter is taking Valentine’s Day to the next level. Instead of giving your loved ones a card, the animal shelter is providing the public an opportunity to send a 10-minute visit from one of their dogs up for adoption.
For a suggested donation of around $30, those who are receiving a Puppy-Gram will also get a rose and a card stating that the donation was given to the shelter under their name.
“The funds go into our donation account which we use to treat things that aren’t in our normal budget,” said Justine Lentz, shelter superintendent. “For example, advanced orthopedic surgery or heartworms; sometimes we use them for new specialized equipment to help us provide better care for the animals, and more.”
Puppy-Gram visits begin on Thursday, February 13 until Friday, February 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The program is only available to Fayetteville addresses, and the shelter advises that the applicants make sure that the on receiving the Puppy-Gram is okay with the shelter showing up to their address.
To sign up people must go to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter or call.
