FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The city of Fayetteville welcomed five hundred electric scooters in November.
Two companies, Lime and Spin, were granted 250 permits each to to place throughout the city.
The city alongside the University of Arkansas implemented several regulations that all scooter riders must adhere too.
The e-scooters can reach speeds up to 15 mph, however there are several zones on campus that the speed is capped at 10 mph for safety reasons.
The e-scooters can be ridden anywhere bicycles can be.
Senior student Ben Luton prefers the new scooters to the e-bikes that have already been here.
“You don’t have to pedal so it’s easier,” Luton said.
