UofA Campus Gives Opportunity to Benefit Community

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— A month-long campus food drive started Monday, November 18, at the hands of the university’s Transit and Parking department.

During the food drive, which goes on through the rest of the semester, there will be bins for donating goods at Harmon garage, the Union Bus Station, the Garland bookstore and at the Transit and Parking offices on Razorback Road.

Throughout the food drive, the donations will be going to the Full Circle Food Pantry on campus. One student shares why he makes it a priority to give back to the community.

“I was brought up, always being told to help out when I can,” said Chris Fagot (fay-go), a senior marketing major at the university. “I have it pretty good and there’s people who are less fortunate.”

Students and staff are encouraged to give what they can. Among the recommended materials from Transit and Parking are canned goods, pasta and peanut butter.

Fagot urges his fellow students to participate this food drive. He said he plans to make donations throughout the month.

“Pay it forward every now and again,” he said. “Even a box of ramen goes a long way, so just whatever you can scrounge around, just donate.” he said.
