Students Get the Opportunity to Show Their Work

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The University Libraries’ Special Collections division is hosting a Student Showcase at 5 p.m. Nov. 19, in Mullins Library.

Undergraduate, graduate students and interns will be giving out presentations on their projects and research for over an hour. Part of the reason for this event is to advertise for the University Libraries’ Special Collections division and get the word out to students and faculty.

“We want to communicate to people on campus and everyone around the state that University Libraries is seeking new ways to help them with their research and creative activity,” said Joshua Youngblood, the head of Special Collections Instructions and Outreach Services.

With the focus being mainly historical research, Youngblood says it’s important to note that is not the only reason for the Special Collections division.

“It’s not just for historians,” Youngblood said. “This is really for everybody. We make all of our resources available for all students to do whatever work inspires them.”

Special Collections is open for people on the weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
