Boss Hog Outfitters is a professional clothing closest located in the Arkansas Union sponsored by the Associated Student Government. It provides professional clothing for students to borrow from for free. Whether it’s for a job interview, a career fair, or presentation, students are able to borrow clothing from the closet and return it when they are finished.
Boss Hog Outfitters began in 2015 out of a supply closet in Champions Hall. Throughout the years, ASG has invested more into Boss Hog Outfitters as demands from students have increased
“Last year, the Director of Boss Hog Outfitters was able to get this great space here in the Union,” said Boss Hog Outfitters Director Elijah Conley. “It’s a more central location so now whenever we have career fairs, we have a lot easier access to the clothing.
Partnerships with popular stores have also helped BHO expand its services.
“We have a partnership with JC Penney and Dillard’s, they donated some suits last year,” said Conley. “We also receive donations from anyone who is willing to donate because right now we’re at the stage where we are growing the closet now that we have this great space.”
Increasing campus awareness has been ASG’s biggest focus to grow BHO and is doing so through social media outreach, campus promotion, and informational events. Last week, BHO hosted an open house for students to see the clothes it has to offer, said Conley.
ASG hopes that with increased awareness, more students will take advantage of their services
“A lot of times you don’t’ think about but something as simple as clothing can be a really big determining factor in whether someone gets a job or makes a good grade on a presentation. So whenever you’re volunteering for Boss Hog Outfitters you’re really able to see the tangible difference you’re making,” said Conley.
