FAYETTEVILLE, AR — 38% of students on campus classify as food insecure.

University housing sent out an email reminder to students that the third annual Pack-The-Pantry has returned. The food drive began October 28TH, and will continue until Saturday. It is Pack the Pantry’s largest food drive of the year.

Bins for goods have been placed in every dorm on campus in hopes to spike donations for the Full Circle Food Pantry. The bins can be found by looking for the flyers for Pack the Pantry they are decorated with. Also, keep your eyes open for areas next to entrances and exits in dorms. The week’s goal is to have 19,000 individual items donated.

The coordinator for the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry says this week provides a great way to make an impact for the community. “It provides us with a lot of stuff to get us through the semester, and to get us a little into next semester until we do more drives,” said Long.

According to the organization, the pantry’s most needed items include beans, pasta, canned fruit, and hygiene items. Individuals and Organizations who would like to help or make a donation can email fcdrives@uark.edu or check out their facebook page.
