BENTONVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — A world-renowned museum just launched its outdoor light exhibit. Crystal Bridges’ “North Forest Lights” offers a nighttime light and sound spectacular. The multimedia experience began Saturday, October 26 and continues through February 16, 2020, in Bentonville’s North Forest. Ann Claire Gaydos, senior at the UA, said she enjoyed the exhibit so much that she would consider going back a couple more times.
“It’s a really fun thing to go to on a winter day and perfect for a date night,” Gaydos said.
The museum partnered with Montreal-based multimedia and entertainment studio Moment Factory to create a family-friendly experience. According to a news release, five distinct installations bring the forest to life with light, sound, and sensory effects.
Those installations include the Crystal Grove, the Forest Frequencies, The Hearth, the Whispering Tree, and the Memory of Water. Gaydos said her favorite exhibit was the Memory of Water.
“Somehow they create the effect of water with lights and with fog, and it’s just really amazing,” said Gaydos. “It looks like the water is moving and there are actual waves, but you’re standing in the middle of it and if you look up there are a million tiny blue lights.”
Guests can also visit the communal campfire area which offers hot chocolate, coffee and snacks. A photo station is situated near the Memory of Water exhibit for folks to snap pictures. Ticket prices range anywhere from $22 for adults to $10 for youth ages 10 to 18.
Gaydos frequents Crystal Bridges a lot but said this is unlike anything she’s ever seen.
“This [exhibit] is interactive, which is super cool, and it’s changing. So it’s almost like you’re watching a performance, but it’s art. Every angle is different and every time you walk through it’s a different experience,” Gaydos said.
