FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The new head Hog’s arrival brings plenty of changes and many fans wonder how his offense compares to former coach Mike Anderson.
With Anderson, fans could find his Fastest 40 mantra on shirts and cups, and new head coach Eric Musselman hopes to bring it to the court.
“You’ve got to get your recruits excited to play in your system, so that’s how came up with this pace and space style of offense,” said Musselman.
Pace and Space is also known as small ball, perfected by the Golden State Warriors in their recent championship runs. They sub in more guards to space out the floor and get 3-point shooters open.
With Arkansas’ current roster, playing small ball is a realistic possibility, with guards Isaiah Joe, Mason Jones and Jalen Harris all returning next year.
In the weeks since Musselman took over, he’s already offered several elite prospects around the country, including several graduate transfers.
In the upcoming class, Arkansas has already signed one recruit in three-star guard Justice Hill, who is already on-campus with the team. Graduate transfer Jeantall Cylla announced his intentions to transfer to the UofA, and play for the Hogs next year under Musselman.
In Musselman’s most recent year at the University of Nevada, he went 29-5 in overall play and 25-3 in conference play.
