FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The National Day Calendar recognizes education brought by zoos today. #NationalZooLoversDay is trending on social media.
According to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, there are over 212 accredited zoos in the United States and over 10,000 zoos worldwide.
Charlie Wilmoth, a Gentry Zoo handler, visited the studio on Monday. He brought a snake, two warthogs, two tortoises, and a baby kangaroo.
“I think the national day is good. I’m big into spreading awareness about the animals and zoos” said Wilmoth.
