ASG Runoff Begins Today

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Students can vote in a runoff election for Associated Studnet Government executive offices starting Monday, April 1 from 9 a.m. through Wednesday, April 3 at 4 p.m.

ASG Judiciary announced Friday, May 29, there would be a runoff election for the positions of president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. None of the candidates obtained a majority vote, meaning the positions are now empty.

Presidential candidate with Unity Jared Pinkerton said his team feels good about the runoff.

“Yeah, we’re nervous but it’s a good nervous right,” said Pinkerton. “We’re doing everything we did last time and then more.”

Unity’s opposition Together We AR expressed gratitude for the runoff in an Instagram post.

“We’ve learned so much these past few weeks, and we are incredibly grateful for the experience,” the post said. “Help us finish strong.”

Students can vote on all three positions. The candidates are as follows:

  • ASG President and Vice President:
    • Jared Pinkerton and Sadie Bryant
    • Maria Calderon and Shay Longmate
  • ASG Treasurer
    • Kevin Smith Jr. and Kirsten James
  • ASG Secretary
    • John Hedgecock and Jack Skidmore

Students actively enrolled at the U of A can vote here until Wednesday.
