FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady receives a lot of national attention when the Patriots reach the big game, but two former Razorbacks will also be on the field–Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr.

Defensive ends Flowers and Wise Jr. spent a combined eight years at the University of Arkansas with combined numbers of 148 solo tackles, 34.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles.

Flowers graduated in 2014 and was drafted by the Patriots in 2015.  He will be playing in his third consecutive Super Bowl with the team.  In the 2018 season, Flowers put together a resume of 32 solo tackles, seven and a half sacks and two forced fumbles.

Wise Jr. graduated in 2016 and was drafted by the Patriots in 2017.  He will be playing in his second consecutive Super Bowl after recording 15 solo tackles and four and a half sacks during the 2018 season.

When Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick was asked about Flowers leadership among defensive ends he said, “Yeah, Trey’s great.  He does an outstanding job with his teammates at that position.”

Super Bowl LIII will be played in Atlanta, Georgia with the New England Patriots taking on the Los Angeles Rams.  The last time the Rams were in the Super Bowl was 17 years ago in 2002, when they lost to none other than the Patriots.

The Super Bowl will air Sunday, February 3rd at 5:30 p.m. on CBS.
