FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- Fayetteville Public Television Station had nowhere to turn when it came to a much-needed software update. In a last-ditch effort Dan Robinson, the station’s operational manager, reached out to the University of Arkansas College of Engineering’s Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
After getting in contact with associate professor Matthew Patitz, Robinson decided that the station would allow students at the University of Arkansas work to help fix their software as part of their capstone project.
The team consisted of College of Engineering students Garrett Graham, Ryan Hutslar, Jacob Krusz, Teja Nakka, Blake Reed and Jan Timpe.
The students worked together to develop a software that made it easy for members of the station to sign up for classes, check out equipment and submit programs.
On August 1st, 2018 Fayetteville Public Television became fully reliant on the new software created by the students as a part of their capstone project.
