The Pink Ribbon Bagel is Back: How Panera Raises Cancer Awareness

by Lauren Krakau

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It’s fall at Panera and you know what that means: pumpkin spice yumminess.

But something different happens in October.

The fall flavors take a shift and turn into a ribbon in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Panera Bread locations in Fayetteville, Bentonville and Fort Smith, will donate twenty-five cents from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold to Komen Ozark to support its mission and programs.

This event touches many lives, including some of our very own students from the University of Arkansas.

“I’ve seen how hard of a journey breast cancer has been with my grandma, and knowing that Panera is raising money for this cause means so much to me,” said UofA Senior Bridgett Jebsen.

In addition to the twenty-five cents from the bagels, on Friday, October 12, Panera Bread will be donating 100 percent of all Pink Ribbon Bagel sales to Komen Ozark.
