FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –
Using a JUUL, also called “Juuling,” can put kids’ health at risk in several ways.
JUUL, pronounced “jewel,” is a brand of e-cigarette.
According to healthy children.org, the concentration of nicotine in a JUUL is more than twice the amount found in other e-cigarettes.
This makes JULLs highly addictive and causes concern for young users because they are already more likely than adults to become addicted to nicotine.
Fayetteville Public School Officer Alan Wilbourn said he realizes this is popular among public school students, but he worries about their health.
“The more and more research that is done about e-cigs and vaping, the more and more we are realizing it is not good,” he said.
The devices have become very popular in recent years, especially among young people.
“Any type of cigarette, whether it be a JUUL or a vape is absolutely not allowed by anyone on campus,” Wilburn said.
