University Lighting a Way for United Way

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Tip- Off for the 84th annual United Way campaign event held in the Union Mall will take place Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm.

The University is invited to come and snack and show support for Northwest Arkansas United Way. This non- profit strives to help those in need locally. Northwest Arkansas United Way impacts children who are below the poverty line.

This kick-off is very significant, and the University of Arkansas has a huge impact in spreading awareness. “The University is one of the top companies supporting United Way,” Cristina Hinds, VP of Resource Development for United Way NWA said. “Out of 126 companies the university is 15.”

Chancellor Joe Steinmetz, Arkansas Razorback cheerleaders and the president of United Way will appear at the event and provide support and more information.

The campus- wide goal this year is to raise $125,000.
