FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As opioid and substance abuse awareness week continues, members of the Arkansas Student Government are reaching out to educate students.
ASG members stood outside of the Arkansas Union in the rain handing out water bottles, stickers and t-shirts.
Amongst the hand-outs were pamphlets about substance abuse and recovery.
ASG Director of External Relations, Trevor Villines, said the first annual awareness week is about saving lives.
“If we can do all of this stuff and let people know about the problem, if we could just save one life, one person, then we’ve done our job,” Villines said.
A “drug take-back” will take place at the UAPD office Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone can drop off their unused drug prescriptions for safe disposal at that time.
