FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas researchers have conducted two new studies claiming that some forms of life can survive on Mars.
The study results show that microorganisms, called methanogens, could live on Mars today.
The methane-producing microorganisms could have also possibly been able to live on Mars in the past, during a time the planet was thought to be warmer and wetter.
Methanogens are commonly found on earth, and can survive extreme conditions.
Funding for the research was partially funded by NASA.
