Below Freezing Temperatures to Hit Northwest Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The National Weather Service has placed Benton, Carroll and Washington County under a freeze warning. The warning is in effect from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 4. The forecasted low during that time in Fayetteville is 27 degrees.
The drop in temperature could kill tender plants that have already blossomed. To keep plants from wilting the National Weather Service suggests covering them with a blanket.
The current extended forecast predicts temperatures to only reach a high of 60 degrees by the end of the week. More wintery weather could move into the area with rain transitioning into snow or ice Friday night as the temperature drops.
