U of A Brings New Changes to UA Connect

By: Seth Campbell

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – While students at the U of A were on spring break IT services worked hard over break, rolling out a new student login system. The system launched today and brought with it new changes.

University of Arkansas IT services partnered with Microsoft Azure to change the login system for common U of A websites. The main difference is students will be required to put in their full email address instead of a user name. Also students will no longer need to use the extension @email.uark.edu to sign in.

IT services said the change was made due to security reasons. Alan Greenberg, chief information security officer, said, “the most valuable thing about the university is not the buildings, it’s the people. They are what matter most.” The upgrades are focused on the technical side of the infrastructure, but they will lay the groundwork for upcoming improvements to UA Connect.
