FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Five Arkansas companies that planned to grow medical marijuana have been temporarily blocked by a judge after complaints about the state’s process for reviewing applications for the facilities.

Judge Wendell Griffen of Pulaski County Circuit issued a temporary restraining order against the state on Wednesday. A hearing has been scheduled for Friday for a preliminary injunction against the state.

Natural’s Health, a Little Rock company who is not among the top five applicants, filed the lawsuit that led Griffen to issue the order.

According the KUAR, all five firms paid the licensing fees and posted performance bonds.
