Students Walk-Out at Fayetteville High School

By: Haleigh Ball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It’s been one month since 17 students were killed by a mass shooter in Florida. Students from Fayetteville High School marched down Harmon Ave. and ended at the court house today in protest of gun policies. FHS is one of the only schools in northwest Arkansas that allowed students to conduct a remembrance walkout without punishment.

“Our student leaders…leading; our students and staff…remembering and honoring. Proud to be Superintendent,” said FHS Superintendent Matthew Wendt in a tweet.

The demonstration lasted until 1 p.m. today.
