FAYETTEVILLE, AR — The University of Arkansas celebrates International Women’s Day in the International Connections Lounge of the Student Union. The program features an art gallery of historical female figures, a booth featuring information on women’s impact internationally, and multiple volunteers handing out free carnations to women.
The STEM department on campus also has a booth in the program, encouraging more women to get involved in the department heavily dominated by men.
The program will end with speaker performances and a fashion show. The celebration is put on by the Office of International Students and Scholars and the Center of Multicultural and Diversity Education.
