FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – NBA all-star pays a visit to the U of A’s Bud Walton Arena. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the latest speaker in the Distinguished Lecture Series.
Jabbar is widely know for his 20 year basketball career. He retired in 1989, as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a record he still holds to this day.
Jabbar’s career did not end after basketball, he has appeared in movies and television shows, co-wrote several books, and created the Skyhook Foundation. This program brings educational opportunities to kids in under-privileged communities through STEM programs.
The event is free, and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m.
