FAYETTEVILLE, ARK – When the Southeastern Conference honors a group of men’s college basketball players as “Allstate SEC Legends” during the SEC tournament, one former Razorback player will be among those names.

Jonathon Modica, who was a freshman during the 2002-03 season and led Arkansas to the NCAA tournament as a senior, will be recognized during the Razorbacks’ first game during the 2018 SEC Tournament, the conference office announced Wednesday.

At Arkansas, Modica led the team in season scoring twice. He averaged 17.8 points per game in conference play as a senior in 2005-06, a season in which the Hogs ended a four-year March Madness drought. He is No. 12 on Arkansas’ all-time scoring list.

Modica joins other notable names in Kentucky’s Joe Crawford, Florida’s David Lee, LSU’s John Brady and others in the 2018 class. Last season, former Razorback Oliver Miller was awarded the same honor.
