AIM Conference to Attract Underrepresented Students

By: Erica Rankin

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Black Graduate Students’ Association will host the Attracting Intelligent Minds Conference from Feb. 22 to Feb. 25.

The goal of the conference is to give more opportunities for prospective graduate students from underrepresented populations. They want to feed information to the students about U of A graduate programs, funding sources and research opportunities.

This year the conference will take students to Crystal Bridges to view, “The Soul of a Nation.” Students will also attend workshops on mentoring and professional development, taught by members of the campus community and local business leaders. Also, the group will go on a guided tour of Northwest Arkansas.

The conference wants to be able to recruit students from students all over the United States to chose The U of A for their graduate programs.
