FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University Housing asks for community organizations to accept donations. Housing’s Leave Green is a program that gives the donated items to a charitable organization.
At the end of each year students donate their old clothing and household appliances that they don’t need. The donated items usually include clothing, electronics, ironing boards and dishes. In 2016, over three tons of supplies were donated to Potter’s House, which was Housing’s choice of partner that year.
Leave Green is asking for community programs to apply on the housing website. If two different organizations choose to work together, then they should each submit their own application describing how they will be working with each other.
In order to be selected, the organization must be able to pick up the donations each day. To apply visit https://home.uark.edu/2018/01/apply-now-leave-green-application-opens-for-2018/. The Deadline to apply for Leave Green is this Saturday.
