From Kenya To Arkansas: One University Of Arkansas Student Makes A Positive Impact

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Moses Agare is the first international student to be elected to the university’s Associated Student Government (ASG).

Last week, ASG passed a bill Agare wrote that allows a permanent seat for an international student.

The bill was created in hopes to encourage more international students to run for ASG and to have a voice on campus. The bill does not discriminate against a student’s year classification.

Agare said the bill is important for international students and for the campus as a whole.

“It was passed unanimously, and the Senate was so happy about it. It was one step for our university to take to ensure we include diversity that we have been wanting for our wonderful campus,” said Agare.

Agare moved to Fayetteville three years ago, has been on ASG for less than a year, and this is his third bill to pass.
