U of A Celebrates Homecoming 2015

Homecoming week is underway at the University of Arkansas. and this year’s theme is Flashback Fayetteville 2015. The U of A Student Alumni Association has organized a series of events during the week leading up to Homecoming weekend. Those events include:

Pigskin Classic
Date: Oct. 27
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Intramural fields.

This flag football tournament, which has been a Homecoming tradition for more than 30 years is hosted by University Recreation. Competing students should contact their Homecoming Chair for ways to register a team. For more information on other intramural sports UREC offers, click here.

Community Concert
Date: Oct. 28
Time: Concert begins 7:00 p.m.
Where: The Gardens

The Homecoming Carnival and Community Concert are brand new to Homecoming this year, and the Student Alumni Association welcomes all students, alumni, Razorback fans, and families to join in on the fun.

Lawn Decoration Competition
Date: Oct. 30
Time: Judging starts at noon
Location: Residence halls and Greek chapter houses

Starting at noon, you can stroll campus and check out all the lawn decorations created by residence halls and Greek pairings.

Senior Walk Dedication
Date: Oct. 30
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Old Main Lawn

The Senior Walk Dedication is a new tradition that started with the 2012 walk. This year the class of 2014 is being honored with a ceremony and official ribbon-cutting. You can join the Student Alumni Association as they hear from the 2014 Associated Student Government president, Student Alumni Board president, and Senior Honor Citation winners. Once the ceremony is finished, you can see your name engraved in concrete. RSVP here.

Dickson Street Parade and Homecoming Pep Rally
Date: Oct. 30
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Dickson Street

The parade, which features the Arkansas Spirit Squads, Razorback Marching Band, Homecoming Court and Greek floats will run from the Highland Avenue intersection to the Chi Omega Greek Theatre. Immediately following the parade, the Homecoming Pep Rally will be hosted by the Arkansas Booster Club and include announcement of the 2015 Homecoming Queen. If your company or non-profit group would like to have a float in this year’s parade, please fill out the form here.

Hog Wild Tailgate
When: Oct. 31
Time: 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
Where: Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House

The Arkansas Alumni Association has announced a new way to tailgate for the 2015 Razorback Football season. You can join the organization right across the street from the stadium parking lot to enjoy live music, tailgate games, TV viewings of other games, food and drinks. The homecoming game is also member appreciation day. If you’re a member, stop by and pick-up your free gift: an Arkansas Alumni tech kit.
