Scientists and weather enthusiasts across the globe are tracking the quickly strengthening Hurricane Patricia. On Friday morning, NASA astronaut Scott Kelly hit social media with a new perspective of the storm. Kelly tweeted a picture of Hurricane Patricia from the International Space Station with the caption, “Stay safe Mexico.”
Researchers say that this storm is the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean or Eastern Pacific. The storm is expected to hit the Southwestern Mexican Coast on Friday evening. Parts of the the Southern United States (including Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas) are expected to receive multiple inches of rain, many cities under flash flood warnings since early Friday morning.
