A proposal that would require that schools allow the open expression of religious beliefs has been rejected.
The bill would not allow the banning religious clothing or accessories in schools.
It would also ensure that students would be allowed to express religious beliefs through art and class work.
The Arkansas House Committee voted down the bill on Tuesday.
