At least 179 patients at a Los Angeles hospital may have been exposed to a drug-resistant “super-bug” bacteria; one that’s already killed two other patients.
Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, says the bacteria could have been on scopes used in endoscopic procedures from October to January.
It also says seven patients were infected by the CRE bacteria.
Two of them have died.
Patients are being contacted for possible exposure and have been offered tests they can take at home.
