The U of A has reached an all-time high in student enrollment. But what effect is this increased number of people having on the environment? Because of campus programs, greenhouse gas emissions have actually DECREASED on campus since 2002. The university has done 210 sustainability related projects since 2009. These projects have resulted in $3.5 million in savings a year. Greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by more than 3 percent, while the number of students, staff and faculty INCREASED by 33 percent.
