U of A alum and Chief executive officer of Wal-Mart, Doug McMillon and his wife are donating $1 million to the Walton College of Business. This money will be used to establish the McMillon Family Endowed Excellence Fund which will be used to fund a proposed School of Global Retail Operations and Innovation. It would educate future retail leaders and promote research that benefits business by advancing the science of retailing. The proposed school still requires more funding and needs to be approved by the U of A Board of Trustees
