The body of a young girl was found this morning in Springfield Missouri. Police have not positively identified the body but they say they have a high degree of confidence that it is Hailey Owens. Hailey was taken from her neighbor’s yard around 5 Tuesday night while she was playing outside. 45 year old Craig Michael Wood was arrested this morning and is being charged with First degree murder. Police say they found signs of foul play at Wood’s house and in his truck. Now according to the Kansas City Star, Wood has worked with the Springfield Public School system since 1998 as a paraprofessional and coach. The Superintendent of the district says Wood is on temporary suspension while the investigation continues.
