The U-S house of representatives has approved a new 5-year farm bill. The proposal would end direct payments to farmers in favor of crop insurance. It would also stop a possible spike in milk prices but cut $8 billion from the food stamp program. Arkansas Representative Tom Cotton voted against the bill saying it spends too much and leaves Arkansas farmers with too little.
