A recent study shows that nearly 70 percent of fourth graders in Arkansas don’t read proficiently. The Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading is trying to combat these low scores by making sure students are reading at the correct level by the end of third grade.They are working on encouraging less absences, practicing reading during the summer and parent involvement.
