Tyson Food Recalls Tainted Chicken

Tyson

Tyson Food is recalling more than 33,000 pounds of chicken products fearing that they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The company says they are voluntarily recalling 40-pound cases of mechanically separated chicken. The recall was issued after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service became aware of people at a Tennessee correctional facility being infected with a particular strain of the bacteria. But, rest assured shoppers, the recalled chicken products were intended for institutional use only and would not have made it to retail stores for consumer purchase.
