The city of Fayetteville was named the 2013 Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year.
This is the 5th year Fayetteville has received the award
Officials reported that Fayetteville volunteers logged more than 650,000 hours of community service last year. Volunteer projects ranged from supporting the city’s animal shelter and working on the city’s parks and trails, to addressing the problem of food insecurity by working with food pantries, feeding programs and community gardens.
Fayetteville has been recognized as a volunteer community 8 times since 1982.
