Eureka Pizza recently became the first pizza company in Arkansas to use solar panels for their energy needs. How does it work? Well when the sunlight hits the panels on the roof of Eureka the film turns it into energy. Then the converters go to work and transform it into energy thats used by everyday appliances use.
Rolf Wilkin, the owner and founder of Eureka Pizza, says they made the decision to go to solar power because its cost effective. The 40 panel system is expected to last 25 years, and generates 15 percent of the energy Eureka uses. This is currently the only Eureka pizza location to use solar panels but Wilkin says he hasn’t ruled out using it at his other stores.
