Preparations for the annual Lights of the Ozarks festival are being undertaken by Fayetteville Parks & Recreation workers, the Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader for the department said.
Approximately 3000 hours of labor go into putting up the lights, Crew Leader Michael Molloy said. Upon completion, the city square will be glowing with over 300,000 LED bulbs.
This year’s festival will also include lights going down Dickson street and Block street to connect the entertainment district to the festival, Molloy said.
This year’s festival will be another busy one for workers at Jammin Java, a coffee shop on the square, an employee said. Jammin Java will be one of the numerous vendors during the festival.
The festival kicks off Nov. 23rd with a lighting ceremony parade, according to the festival’s website, and will continue all the way through the end of December.
