The University of Arkansas Department of Mathematical Sciences hosted its fourth annual “Celebration of Mind” event on Saturday, November 9. The program was meant to engage and challenge students of all ages in the spirit of Martin Gardner, a popular American writer who excited many about mathematics through puzzles and games. Students who participated were eligible to win prizes including math puzzles, backpacks and items donated by the department of athletics and local businesses. This year was the second year the event was held in the Verizon Ballroom and it had the largest attendance yet.
