A woman accused of impersonating country musician Alison Krauss and stealing money from an elderly man is in custody today. Police say Sue Evers posed as Alison Krauss on a dating website and stole nearly 300-thousand dollars from an elderly man. Evers turned herself in and showed up to her scheduled court appearance, after failing to take a court-ordered mental evaluation. Evers is facing felony charges of exploitation.

People across the world are starting the realize the overwhelming effects of things happening in the US. Director of the International Monetary fund, Oliver Blanchard warned that because of the government shut down in the US the world’s economy could face unfavorable results.  The International Monetary Fund estimates that the global growth will be cut to two point nine percent due entirely to the unpaid US debts. Home sales for the month of August have come in and the state of Arkansas saw a 24 percent increase since last year. Benton County led the state for most home sales followed by Pulaski County and Washington County. The state also saw a slight decrease in the cost of homes this year.
