Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe vetoed Senate Bill 134 this afternoon which would have banned abortions at 12 weeks into a pregnancy. Last week, Governor Beebe vetoed a measure banning abortions 20 weeks into a pregnancy, but the Legislature overrode it. Beebe says the law contradicts the U.S.
Constitution because it imposes a ban on a woman’s right to choose an elective, nontherapeutic abortion well before viability.
