Arkansas’ State government passed two campus related bills today. One bill would allow college campuses to decide whether to allow faculty and staff to carry concealed handguns. The other would change the amounts of the state’s lottery-funded college scholarships. Schools that opt out of the faculty and staff law for concelaed carry would be required to revisit that decision annually. The legislation changing the lottery scholarship increases the amount given to students every year. Both bills now head to Governor Beebe’s desk. Beebe says he will likely sign the gun measure into law.
