Typhoon Sanba slammed against the South Korean coast today. The storm had 120 mile per hour winds. It landed around 6:30 am with an eye nearly half the island’s length. The infrastructure on the island is designed to withstand powerful storms since the island is in an area of the Pacific where typhoons happen often. Sanba is also expected to affect a large area with flooding. Even though the storm has weakened since Friday when it was described as a super typhoon, Sanba is a category three with winds ranging from 111 to 129 miles per hour. There have been no immediate reports of damage.
