Sloane Roberts’ new role as Miss Arkansas 2012
For Sloane Roberts, life as Miss Arkansas 2012 has been very exciting. At the same time, it has also been extremely busy.
“It is a full-time job. I am the official ambassador for the state of Arkansas, so I have to fulfill all of my duties and responsibilities,” said Roberts.
The senior communications major from Rison will take a year off of school to focus on her role as Miss Arkansas. Some of her duties include working with her personal platform, Love Always Hopes: the Morgan Nick Foundation, an Arkansas-based organization dedicated to preventing child abduction.
Roberts will also spend time working in her hometown of Rison, a small community in Cleveland County that has been nothing short of supportive for Sloane ever since she started the pageant circuit. The town is preparing a billboard with Roberts on it in honor of her winning the Miss Arkansas title.
With all of her responsibilities as Miss Arkansas, Roberts must also find the time to prepare for the Miss America 2013 pageant in January. She will receive a personal trainer, an interview coach, and wardrobe specialists to help her get ready. Roberts says she is so thankful that the Miss Arkansas Organization does everything they can to make sure their young women can do their best at Miss America.
